Ethan Marcotte developed the term "Responsive Web Design" to help us give language to a new approach to designing the web. While that is a great starting point, what about the whole experience? What about multiple touch-points and channels of interaction? How do you begin to orient a whole company to thinking of the mobile experience of the brand, not just the website?
Many people are beginning to discuss CSS Media Queries as a way to handle some of the new challenges of mobile devices. While media queries are extremely important, understanding how they relate to the large context of Responsive Web Design is vital. In this talk, I provide an introduction to the main components of Responsive Web Design and show how Media Queries is not a simple panacea.
